Witness

Part of our Mission Statement as a church is to "bring others to Christ and to embrace them with love."  The witness committee works to lead our congregation in efforts to make this a reality.  Listed below are some of the minitries of this committee.  If you have ideas or if you would like to help, contact Kay Lewis.

Ministry to Visitors

Members provide gift bags which includes a loaf of homemade bread for visitors to our worship service. In addition, letters of welcome and hospitality are sent to visitors.

Ministry to Hospitalized and Homebound: 

  • Members of our congregation take gift bags to our homebound members during Advent.
  • Shut-ins are visited by church members.
  • A telephone ministry is active for those who prefer a call rather than a visit.
  • Birthday cards and special occasion cards are sent to shut-ins. They receive 4-5 cards per year from the church.
  • Gift boxes are available for hospitalized members as needed.
  • Our Kids Klub has begun the tradition of visiting Health South Rehabilitation Center to sing for the residents.

Publicity

The Witness Committee works to keep our community informed of church events and opportunities through the use of the media.
